Pictured with our Pieta statue, The Seven Sorrows Chaplet includes an image of Our Sorrowful Mother with her heart pierced with seven swords. Each sorrow has a medal with an image depicting the sorrow. The Rosary of the Seven Sorrows dates back to the 14th century when Our Lady of Sorrows appeared to St. Bridget of Sweden and revealed this devotion to her. 
Catholics pray the Seven Sorrows Chaplet to learn to suffer and love as Mary did. In doing so, we follow Mary's footsteps and live more intimately with her Son, Jesus and love Him and other more profoundly. September is the month dedicated to Our Sorrowful Mother.
