Our Lady of Lourdes holy water font is a stunning piece made in the Della Robbia style. With the holy water vessel at the base it takes on a likeness to the grotto with the waters of Lourdes. On 25 February, 1858, Our Lady appeared to St. Bernadette Soubirous and said to her, "Go and drink from the spring and wash yourself there.” St. Bernadette followed Mary's instructions and discovered a muddy spring that had not been discovered until that point. To this day, this spring is visited by pilgrims all over the world and many expereinced spirtual and physical healing.
