"The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep" (John 10:11). This icon portrays Christ with a lamb on his shoulders and a shepherd's staff in the crook of his arm. Surrounding the image of Christ is the Last Supper, Pentecost and above are miniture images of the Holy Trinity and Jesus washing the Apostles' feet.
