OUR STORY

We’re Peter and Athena and are a Catholic family living in Somerset County. We started Catholic Seasons from our own love of the Catholic faith and to offer Catholic and Catholic inspired products and resources for people to create their domestic church and live liturgically.

We strongly believe that people draw closer to God through the Good, the True and the Beautiful. We keep this in mind as we curate products to feature in our shop. We’re more than a piety stall. While we offer traditional sacramentals, we also offer home décor, gifts, accessories, and art that are fresh and updated to modern tastes without losing the importance of Catholic traditions. We hope that as people surround themselves with beauty and reminders of their faith, they will be more immersed into their faith and inspired to enhance their traditions or create new ones and ultimately, deepen their relationship with God.

We chose the name Catholic Seasons to reflect both the church’s liturgical seasons and the person’s seasons of life. There seems to be more available for young children and families, but as children grow into adolescence and adulthood, the resources become fewer, and even fewer for those that may not have children or are single. We want to expand what is available to reach the demographics that may feel more marginalized. Some seasons of life are like Spring flourishing with growth and abundant fruits, and other seasons are like Winter where spiritual inspiration is dormant and the ground appears barren. We want to offer resources for all those times so that living a holy, liturgical life becomes not just accessible, but enjoyable.

The inspiration to create Catholic Seasons comes from our own search for quality products to use for celebrations, home décor and gifts. There is 2000 years of beauty and tradition available to us and we want to bring that into our homes, how we celebrate milestones in life and the feasts days and to discover lesser-known traditions. We have seen that living this way bears witness of our faith to our children or anyone that comes to our home to share their meals and time with us. It also brings our Catholic faith outside of Sundays and infuses our ordinary days lives with holiness by drawing our focus to centre on Christ.

Our website also features a blog. This is where we go deeper into traditions, saints, feasts, and Catholic history in the UK. We also want to use it as a platform to connect people to the Catholic apostolates and artists in the community. The UK has a rich and beautiful history of Catholicism, and we see the blog as a ministry to bring honour and awareness to this history.

Living life as a Catholic is beautiful and dynamic and we hope that our endeavours reflect this. We would love to hear from you and your interest in collaboration through your creativity, expertise, or ministry. Please keep us in your prayers!

In Christ,

Peter & Athena Royds and family
